⚽ Vital for Kids & Families – A free space where children play, families gather, and residents stay active. The Humberline Sports Field is a shared resource that serves a diverse and growing community. Developing this site would significantly reduce the recreational opportunities and negatively impact the quality of life for residents.
🚸 Traffic & Safety Concerns – Narrow roads and heavy congestion will only worsen for locals. Our neighborhood is experiencing rapid growth, with the expansion of Humber College and an increase in distribution and logistical facilities, which have already significantly increased traffic in our neighbourhood.
🌳 Loss of Green Space – In a time when youth need more outdoor play, why take it away when other indoor facilities exist? Preserving green spaces is critical in mitigating urban heat island effects and supporting biodiversity.

Since 1967, Rexdale Soccer Club has been an affordable, inclusive soccer program for kids in Etobicoke North. Our fields at 95 Humberline Drive are the primary place for hundreds of children to play each summer.
The City of Toronto plans to build a community centre on this site, thereby eliminating the only dedicated outdoor soccer space for our youth. While we support community development, especially indoor gyms, this cannot come at the expense of our kids’ recreation and well-being!
